Fotonica 2011 is the 13th Italian National Conference of Photonic Technologies. The Conference is the meeting place of the Italian Photonic Community where the most advanced achievements of research in photonics are presented and discussed. The Conference covers all aspect of photonics, with a particular emphasis on applications, in line with the contents of the European Technology Platform Photonics21. Fotonica 2011 will devote one of its plenary sessions to the Terabit/s Transport Networks to address the why, where and how of this major challenge of the optical networks evolution. Key international players will discuss the topic offering the different perspectives of the users, the service and the technology providers.
