The event "Lange Nacht der Forschung" is Austrias largest event to present scienctific and technological developments to the public. 2012 is the 5th year this event is launched. It takes places at various locations all over Austria and aims at reaching as many people as possible. Interested people are invited to come to universities, research organizations and companies to explore and experience very close research and technology. Experiments are performed, demonstrators are shown, short tutorials are given and questions of inquisitive visitors are answered. State-of-the-art and novel technologies are exemplified and communicated. This event is supported and coordinated by the council for research and technology and financed by the austrian provinces.
